The world of whisky has never been as exciting as it is now and includes New Zealand. The whisky scene here has been growing steadily for years (which it takes many of to age a whisky of course). The history not all recent, Willowbank distillery in Dunedin was open between 1951 and 1997. The current NZ whisky landscape includes Thomson Whisky in Auckland, Workshops Whisky and Ash & Desiree Whitaker’s Cardrona Distillery from Central Otago. Cardrona is by far the largest and is making waves not only in New Zealand but abroad.
